Lead Automation

Lead Automation (Advance Tools → Lead Automation) runs three WhatsApp journeys: Follow-up, Event-Based, and Onboarding. Each needs a connected WhatsApp account and Approved templates. Booking Automation is separate — see the Bookings guide.

At a glance

Overview

  1. 1 Connect WhatsApp and make sure the templates you will use are Approved.
  2. 2 Open Advance Tools → Automations → Lead Automation. Use “Not sure which automation to use?” on the hub if you need a quick chooser.
  3. 3 Create Follow-up, Event-Based, or Onboarding (each may require its own plan add-on).
  4. 4 Set audience, templates, delays or event dates, and stop rules for that type.
  5. 5 Activate and monitor from the hub lists or each automation’s detail page. For appointments and stays, use Booking Automation instead (Bookings docs).

Step by step

Which automation should you use?

Open the hub, pick a card, then follow that type’s guide.

Follow-up Automation

Automatically send follow-up messages based on engagement and replies. Best for no-reply follow-ups, re-engaging inactive leads, and nurture after a campaign template.

  1. 1 Use when a campaign sends an Initial Template and you want timed follow-ups only if the contact does not reply.
  2. 2 Open the Follow-up Automation guide for create fields, delays, Non-Responders group, Pause/Resume, and contact journey statuses.

Event-Based Automation

Send automated messages on holidays, festivals, birthdays, and anniversaries. Best for wishes, greetings, seasonal offers, and occasion marketing.

  1. 1 Use when the send date comes from a calendar event or each contact’s DOB / anniversary — not from a campaign reply wait.
  2. 2 Open the Event-Based Automation guide for event types, date verification, audience (groups/tags), and the daily send schedule.

Onboarding Automation

Welcome new contacts with a personalized sequence of automated messages. Best for introductions and multi-step product/service onboarding.

  1. 1 Use when someone is added as a new contact (or matches a group/tags) and should get an immediate first message plus scheduled steps.
  2. 2 Open the Onboarding Automation guide for sequences, exclude groups, stop-on-reply, and failure retries.

Tips

  • Only Approved templates appear in pickers; add media/variables when the template requires them.
  • Your plan may limit how many automations you can create; team permissions control who can create, edit, or delete Lead Automations.
  • Booking Automation (sidebar next to Lead Automation) is not one of these three — see Bookings.
