- 3 Enter your WhatsApp number (often prefilled from Cloud API) and any prefilled / greeting message.

Step by step
Link & QR workspace
Three tabs on one page — pick the tool that matches where you will place the CTA.
WhatsApp Link
Creates a standard https://wa.me/{phone} link (optional ?text=). The number appears in the URL. Copy and Test only — this tab does not generate a downloadable QR.
- 1 Open the WhatsApp Link tab.
- 2 Confirm WhatsApp Phone Number (with country code). Edit if needed.
- 3 Optional: Pre-filled Message (max 1000 characters) so the chat opens with a known first line.
- 4 Click Generate Link, then Copy or Test Link.
- 5 Use the link in ads, website buttons, signatures, social bios, or SMS. You can also paste it into a separate QR tool for print if you do not need Meta’s official QR.
Chat Widget
Embed a floating WhatsApp button on your website with live preview before you copy the script.
- 1 Open the Chat Widget tab under Widget Configuration.
- 2 Set phone number, optional Default Message, Greeting Message, Button Text, Button Position (corners), and Button Color.
- 3 Click Generate Widget Script and review Live Preview (button + popup).
- 4 Copy Script and paste it near the end of your site HTML, before the page closes.
- 5 The script loads the UpScaleUp.io widget with your phone, messages, position, and color data attributes.
Official QR & short link
Meta official short links (wa.me/message/…) hide your number and include QR images from Meta. Requires WhatsApp Cloud API connected. Up to 2,000 codes per number.
- 1 Connect WhatsApp Cloud API first if the tab shows Connect WhatsApp Cloud API / Open WhatsApp setup.
- 2 Under Create new code, enter a Prefilled message (Meta limit 140 characters) and choose QR image format SVG (print) or PNG.
- 3 Click Create on Meta. Copy the short link and open the Meta QR image when provided.
- 4 Manage Your codes: Copy link, Edit prefilled message, or Delete (deleted links expire for customers). Refresh list to sync.
- 5 Note: Meta does not provide scan analytics for these codes in this tool.
Tips
- Prefill a clear first message (for example “Hi from Instagram bio”) so you know which channel the lead came from.
- Use Official QR when you need print-ready Meta QR / short links without exposing the phone in the URL; use WhatsApp Link for simple click-to-chat.
- Test links and widgets on a phone before printing QR codes or shipping site embeds.
- Inbox “source tracking” for Meta Click-to-WhatsApp ads is separate from this generator.
